I like this idea. I want to see this added into the game.

You mean, combining an armor piece, with all the runes and insignias absorbed, with a newly crafted armor piece to have all the runes and insignias that was absorbed on the original armor piece so the new armor piece retains the original armor piece's runes and insignias and the new armor's skin?

In reply to -.-'s question, yes, that is what I have originally intended:
- retain old skin (15k Gladiator)
- retain previously absorbed armor insignias and runes
- newly absorbed new skin (15k Kurzick)
- able to change into both old skin (Glad) and new skin (Kur)
- able to change into any of previously absorbed armor insignias and runes
This is what I intended, but I do not know what the rest of the community thinks about it.
EDIT:
In reply to -.-'s comment in the post herebelow:
We need the support of the community if we wish to see the proposed concept in this thread implemented into Guild Wars by ANET.
Peace.

Suggest that old armor can be upgraded into Smart Armor via an NPC.

I really like this idea. It is indirectly a storage feature. You are indirectly storaging all armor skins and upgrades you'll need. You'll never ever need to have more than one armor set on your character.

/signed for this system for only combination of two of the same armor levels
eg: U cant combine Ele AL 51 and Ele AL 60
The Reason being is that there would be alot of fluctuations in the economy.
Also, as stated before by a number of people, it should cost something, it shouldn't be for free.

You get to use anything on one set of armor? Then it should be expensive armor. You're talking about storing all sorts of runes on what should be, say, 3 armor sets. You're saving whatever amount of money it would cost to buy those extra 2 sets. If that costs the same as other armor, that's rather cheap for 1 set of armor that can do the same thing as 3 sets. I personally don't even use many different sets. But I don't care. If the idea is not found to be too money-saving and/or cheap for those who use it, I say go for it. But if you're gonna save a fortune off it, that's just asking Anet to make money easier to get/retain. Probably a fee for each rune retained or something, some special NPC that is the only one that can make this happen for a fee.
under these possible conditions, whole-heartedly /signed
